Terms & Conditions for Handmade and Bespoke Goods
By placing an order with us, you agree to the following terms and conditions:
1. Handmade Nature of Goods
All our products are individually handmade. As a result, slight variations in colour, texture, size, and finish may occur. These are not considered defects but a hallmark of the craftsmanship and uniqueness of each item.
-
Natural inconsistencies such as minor surface variations, asymmetry, tool marks, or slight discrepancies in dimensions are to be expected and celebrated in handmade work.
-
These differences do not affect the functionality or quality of the piece and are not grounds for return or refund.
2. Bespoke & Custom Orders
We offer a bespoke service for customers seeking personalised or made-to-order items.
-
Once a bespoke order has been confirmed and production has begun, it cannot be cancelled, refunded, or exchanged.
-
Design change requests must be submitted in writing before production begins. If changes are requested after initial approval, they are undertaken at the customer’s own risk, and we cannot be held responsible for errors or inconsistencies resulting from frequent or late-stage revisions.
-
We reserve the right to charge additional fees for late-stage design changes that require new materials, revised patterns, or extended production time.
3. Approval & Production Timeline
-
For bespoke goods, we may provide sketches, or written descriptions for approval before production.
-
Once written approval has been received, the approved design becomes final.
-
If the customer requests modifications after approval, we cannot guarantee the final product will fully align with the original vision, particularly in handmade processes where materials or production steps may already be in motion.
4. Returns & Exchanges
Due to the nature of handmade and bespoke production:
-
Returns or exchanges are only accepted if the item is damaged in transit or significantly differs from the final approved design.
-
For handmade rugs, examples of significant deviation may include:
-
A completely different colour palette (e.g. red used instead of blue)
-
A substantial size discrepancy (e.g. the rug is more than 10% smaller or larger than specified)
-
Slight colour variations due to natural dyes, minor asymmetries in pattern, or manual irregularities in texture do not constitute a significant deviation.
-
-
All concerns must be reported within 7 days of receipt, accompanied by clear photographs and details.
5. Care Instructions
Each item is accompanied by care guidelines suited to its materials and method of production. We are not responsible for damage resulting from misuse, incorrect cleaning, or environmental exposure beyond what is reasonably expected.
6. Intellectual Property
All product designs, illustrations, patterns, and photographs remain the property of TheRugBuds and may not be used, reproduced, or distributed without written permission.
7. Limitation of Liability
We take pride in the quality and individuality of our handmade goods. However, we are not liable for:
-
Natural imperfections inherent in artisanal production
-
Errors resulting from late-stage design change requests
-
Customer expectations based on machine-made standards
-
Production or delivery delays due to force majeure or supplier disruption
